Wolves supporter Ben Kidson is the latest artist to sign with Wolves Records and celebrates with the launch of his new single later this month.

True to the style and unique set-up of Wolves Records, Kidson’s signing was assisted by musical legend Robert Plant.

The lead singer of Led Zeppelin and Wolves vice-president is a fan of Ben’s music and delivered a signed shirt to him at Warner Music Group’s head office.

Kidson, whose new single Joking will be available from Thursday 23rd March, follows Reepa as the second artist to sign with Wolves Records.

On signing to Wolves Records, Kidson said: “It’s mad to be signing to a record label, let-alone a record label that is also my football team. It’s nice to be able to represent my club, as well as doing something I love.”

Back in September, Kidson performed at his first Louder event at Molineux, donning a retro Wolves away shirt, and wowed a sell-out crowd with his performance.

Combining the alt-rock energy of his heroes Nirvana with a love for the pop music of Harry Styles and Taylor Swift, Kidson is ready to join the pop-punk revolution himself.

An American Express ‘Unsigned’ competition finalist in July 2022, he features heavily in the accompanying documentary on Amazon Prime, Unsigned.

His new single Joking is the soundtrack to an advert for the documentary which has garnered seven million views on TikTok, and his music has also featured in the likes of the BBC’s Killing Eve and ITV’s Sticks and Stones.

The single itself is about the time Kidson drank too much and told one of his close friends that he was in love with them. Now, awake again and supremely hungover, he attempts damage control; but the problem is, he was telling the truth.

Joking is the current BBC Introducing South West Upload of the Week for 2022, as well as BBC South West Track of the Week.

A finalist for the Isle of Wight New Blood competition last year, Kidson has also played SW Lockdown Festivals Airwaves and Poltimore, as well as Amex Unsigned.

From 23rd March, music fans will be able to listen to Joking on all the usual music platforms.
